Have you ever wondered how many young shark lovers are out there in the world? Well, let me introduce myself to begin with.
Before you read, all my blogs specially this one are giving my own opinion and knowledge please remember that other people think differently.
Im Isabel, Im 14, I’ve loved sharks ever since I was little and my passion for sharks is enormously big. I’ve always had, and I still have, the dream of swimming with sharks. When I really got into sharks I realized that was what I truly loved wanted to dedicate myself to sharks my whole life. I started to study and learn about sharks about 3 or 4 years ago. And from that point on I`ve been into sharks all the time. I learned to dive 2 years ago, and now I am an advanced scuba diver, and soon enough I will spend so much time with sharks underwater that its going to be the only thing I will be doing, if i haven´t already.
I care about sharks as much as I love them for many different reasons, the principal one is the shark finning, and I personally believe It is one of the biggest issues worldwide that connects to every other problem such as economy. Shark finning can cause so serious issues not only in the marine ecosystem but also to us. That concerns me quite a lot.
Shark conservation is also very important for young people. Sharks must stay on earth, otherwise, if they disappear, the dreams of hundreds of children, like I had, will brake and their happiness and passion for something will vanish. Sharks mean a lot for children who have not heard of the myths in the media. When they first see their very first shark in a aquarium they just can’t stop watch them, they can stay there for hours and you can see their amazed faces with a huge smile on them. That was my case when I saw my first shark when I was about 4 or 5.
I don’t only love sharks not just for their appearance and their perfect-predators role but also because they are essential to the marine ecosystem, they are one of the oldest animals of all, and without them there wouldn`t be life in the oceans and most of us wouldn’t be here That is why I care, because sharks are one of the most important animals and thanks to them we are here. I expect that for the future, both sharks and humans, can live together and so love each other.
