Welcome, Gus Larkin! AOW, Night, Wreck, Deep and Nitrox Certified Diver
Thanks to Mike Nelson and the TV show "Sea Hunt" I Started diving in every Strip Coal Mine, Stone Corrie, River, and mud puddle in Southwestern PA I could find in 1959 with a Healthways tank and double hose regulator. Switched over to a ScubaPro Mk3/3000 single hose reg in 1971(have been trying to get back to that "single hose" concept ever since). Those days we got our air fills at the local Fire Department and our idea of a weight belt were cinder blocks. Wanted to go down, grab one. Wanted to go up, let go of it. Didn't know what a "C" card was till I moved to Florida in 1975 and tried to get my tanks filled. Opps, "C" card, what's a "C" card? BS'ed the instructor in to takeing me out for a check out dive and let him decide for himself. His decision: AOW! Moved on to Wreck, Deep and Nitrox specialities by 1996. Went SSI Platinum Pro in 1997,decided that was enough, and to just kick back and enjoy the sport for what it is: FUN! Have a Condo on Grand Cayman and try to visit at least 4 weeks out of the year. Oh, yea, one more thing: GO STEELERS!!!!!!!!
